I came into counselling and psychotherapy training from a long-standing interest in how people make sense of difficult experiences and find ways to live with greater meaning and connection. Deciding to formally train in this field was influenced by volunteering for several years within the homeless sector, where the depth and complexity of the stories I encountered helped me understand how closely emotional distress is linked to life circumstances, relationships, and loss.
Working beyond the therapy room
Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I also work in an advocacy and coaching role, supporting people experiencing complex health needs and homelessness. This work informs my psychotherapy practice, deepening my appreciation for the many ways people find strength, meaning, and dignity in difficult circumstances, and for the wider contexts that shape emotional life.
Making therapy accessible
I aim to offer therapy in a way that is as accessible as possible. Alongside my standard fees, I offer some sliding scale and lower-cost spaces. I am mindful that barriers to support can deepen feelings of isolation or distress, and that people’s circumstances and resources can change over time. If this is something you need, please let me know when you get in touch.
